DHAKA, Nov 09, 2025 (BSS) - Admiral Naveed Ashraf, chief of naval staff of Pakistan, who is on a three-day official visit to Bangladesh, today paid a courtesy call on his Bangladeshi counterpart Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan at the Naval Headquarters in Banani, Dhaka.
On arrival at Naval Headquarters, the Chief of Naval Staff welcomed the Pakistani navy chief. A smartly turned out contingent of Bangladesh Navy at the time gave him a guard of honour, an ISPR release said here today.
During the call on, Admiral M Nazmul Hassan exchanged greetings with Admiral Naveed Ashraf and thanked him for his visit to Bangladesh. He emphasised on further strengthening the relationship between the two brotherly nations. Different issues of bi-lateral interests came up for discussion in the meeting.
A delegation from Pakistan Navy, Pakistan High Commissioner, Defence Attach‚, PSO's Naval Headquarters and senior military officials were present at the time.
Earlier, the Pakistan naval chief paid homage to the members of the armed forces who embraced martyrdom in War of Liberation, at the Shikha Anirban monument in Dhaka Cantonment. He also called on Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf is scheduled call on Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force, Principal Staff Officer at the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division and National Defence College Commandant, among others.
Pakistan Navy ship 'PNS Saif' at the same time arrived at Chattogram Port on a goodwill visit to Bangladesh. Pakistan Navy chief and Pakistan Navy ship is scheduled to depart on November 12.
