DHAKA, Nov 8, 2025 (BSS) – The Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo today hosted a community interaction meeting aimed at raising awareness among Bangladeshi expatriates about their responsibilities and compliance with Japanese laws and social norms.
The event, held at the Embassy auditorium, was attended by Director of the Southwest Asia Division at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Masakatsu Murotani and officials from NHK WORLD-JAPAN, alongside a significant number of Bangladeshi expatriates living across Japan, according to a message received here today.
In his remarks during the first session, Director Murotani called on the Bangladeshi community to be more aware and respectful of Japan’s culture, traditions, and laws.
He also drew attention to the country’s current labor and immigration policies, underscoring the importance of abiding by them to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two nations.
During the second session, NHK WORLD-JAPAN delivered a presentation introducing its migrant-friendly initiatives, including Bangla-language digital platforms and user-friendly applications to facilitate Japanese language learning and social integration.
Participants later shared their experiences and views on various aspects of living in Japan.
In his remark, Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan, Md. Daud Ali emphasized the importance of responsible conduct by Bangladeshi nationals in Japan, given the country’s evolving social and political landscape.
He urged the community to uphold the image of Bangladesh by demonstrating integrity, discipline, and respect for Japanese laws and customs.
The Ambassador reaffirmed Bangladesh’s deep and historic ties with Japan and expressed confidence that mutual understanding and cooperation between the two peoples would continue to strengthen through such engagements.
