CHATTOGRAM, Nov 7, 2025 (BSS)- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested six individuals in connection with a series of high-profile shootings and terror activities across the district.

Of them, two were involved in the murder case of Sarwar Hossain alias Babla. The suspects were also involved in the attack of BNP candidate for Chattogram-8 constituency and city BNP convener Ershad Ullah while he was conducting an election rally in Bagowan area under Raozan upazila of the district. 

During the arrest, a foreign pistol, a magazine, and four rounds of live bullets were recovered from the suspect's possession.

Four more terrorists have been arrested in connection with the shooting incidents in Chalitalali in the city and Raozan upazila of the district, according to the information provided by RAB-7 this afternoon.

The detainees are accused of direct involvement in the recent murder of Sarwar Hossain Babla and the shooting of BNP leader Ershad Ullah in the Bayezid Bostami area, as well as the separate shooting of auto-rickshaw driver Mohammad Idris in the same locality.
 
The shooting incident occurred on Wednesday (November 5) around 6:30 pm, during a public meeting of BNP candidate Ershad Ullah, resulting in the death of Sarwar Babla and injuring Ershad Ullah and another person critically.
 
Confirming the detentions to BSS, Mozaffar Hossain, senior assistant director of RAB-7, stated that their team had successfully apprehended six suspects overnight from various areas in the city. 

These suspects are connected to the murder of Sarwar Hossain Babla, the attack on Ershad Ullah, the shooting of Mohammad Idris, and ongoing acts of terror in Raozan.
 
Hossain mentioned that at least five individuals were shot in the incident in Bagowan area of Raozan upazila around 9 pm on the day. 

Additionally, on Thursday, miscreants shot a disabled auto-rickshaw driver named Idris for obstructing drug dealing in Chalitalali. RAB arrested a total of six people involved in these incidents.
 
Abdul Quader, Sarwar Babla's father, filed a murder case against 23 individuals at the Bayezid Bostami Police Station in connection with the 
murder. 

Alauddin and Helal, who were named in the case, were apprehended by a RAB team in the Hajirpul area under Chandgaon Police Station during a raid.
 
The RAB official mentioned that legal action against the accused is currently underway.
