DHAKA, Nov 2, 2025 (BSS) - A meeting between the Director General of Bangla 
Academy Professor Mohammad Azam and a delegation from the Bangladesh 
Publishers and Booksellers Association was held today to discuss the possible 
schedule for the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026.

The meeting took place at 6:30 pm today, where the association placed several 
proposals regarding the timing of next year's fair.

During the discussion, different possible time slots were reviewed, along 
with recommendations from state security agencies. 

Considering the overall situation, the proposal to hold the fair in February 
2026, following the upcoming national elections, was deemed realistic and 
practical.

It was decided that the final schedule for the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 
will be announced after the official declaration of the national election 
date.

The Bangla Academy continues to maintain regular communication with the 
government's higher authorities and other concerned agencies regarding the 
smooth organization of the upcoming book fair.
