PANCHAGARH, Oct 31, 2025 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain today said fifteen years of mismanagement cannot be cleaned up in fifteen months.
“Our ministry has achieved significant success during his 15 months in office. What I could not accomplish should be termed as my failure, because fifteen years of mismanagement cannot be cleaned up in 15 months,” he said.
He made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest at the “Azimusshan Shan-e-Risalat Conference”, organized by the Tawhidi Janata of Panchagarh district at the Darul Ulum Madinatul Islam Madrasa ground in Raushanbag area in the district town.
“Our government is now fifteen months old. During this time, we have brought major reforms in the Hajj management system,” he said.
“To investigate allegations of corruption or irregularities in the construction of model mosques, we have formed a powerful committee. There were also irregularities in the Islamic Foundation, for which we set up an inquiry committee led by a former judge. I received the report yesterday, and legal action will be taken in accordance with its findings,” he said.
The adviser said, “We have refunded Tk 39 crore that was stuck with Hajj agencies in Saudi Arabia. There is no scope for corruption in my ministry. I myself am not involved in any corruption, and I remain vigilant to ensure that my officers maintain integrity. We have made every effort to build a transparent and accountable administration”.
Conference implementation committee president Maulana Abdul Hannan chaired the event while General Secretary Hafiz Maulana Mahmudul Alam, Jamaat-e-Islami District Ameer Iqbal Hossain, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Mofiz Uddin, District Islami Andolon Bangladesh President Abdul Hai, Vice-President Qari Muhammad Abdullah, General Secretary Syed Sultan Mahmud, and District Khilafat Majlis President Hafiz Mir Morshed Tuhin were present.
Earlier, the Religious Affairs Adviser was welcomed with a crest and a bouquet of flowers. Later, the Ulemaye Kerams presented a memorandum containing 12 demands on behalf of the Tawhidi Janata of Panchagarh.
