DHAKA, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) – The 44th Annual Commanders’ Conference of the Regiment of Artillery and the 1st Annual Commanders’ Conference of the Army Air Defence Corps (AADFC) were held at the Artillery Centre and School (AC&S) in Halishahar Cantonment, Chattogram today.
Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman attended the conference as the chief guest, an ISPR press release said here.
Upon arrival at the AC&S, he was received by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC), the GOC of 24th Infantry Division and Area Commander, Chattogram, and the Commandant of AC&S.
Addressing the commanders of both corps, the Army Chief highlighted their glorious traditions and significant contributions to the nation.
He urged all members of the Regiment of Artillery and the Army Air Defence Corps to remain prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century through modern and time-befitting training.
During an interactive session, the Army Chief discussed various issues, including technological advancement, research, professional skill development, and future planning of the two corps.
Senior officials, including the GOC of ARTDOC, the Director General of the Department of Immigration and Passports, the GOCs of 17th and 24th Infantry Divisions, the Master General of the Ordnance, the Chairman of BEPZA, senior directing staff of the NDC, senior officers from Army Headquarters, and commanders of all artillery and air defence brigades and regiments, attended the event alongside members of the media.
Earlier, on October 29, Major General Md Nurul Anwar, DG of the Department of Immigration and Passports, formally took charge as the 10th Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery, while Major General Md Abu Bakar Siddique Khan, Master General of the Ordnance, assumed responsibility as the 1st Colonel Commandant of the Army Air Defence Corps.
