Fijian minister honours Bangladesh martyrs at Savar National Memorial

SAVAR, Oct 29, 2025 (BSS) – Fiji’s Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Sugarcane and Industry, Charan Jeath Singh, today paid solemn floral tributes to the heroic martyrs at the National Memorial in Savar. 

The minister, referred to in reports as Fiji's Industry Minister, honoured the martyrs at the National Memorial.  

Following the presentation of floral tributes, Minister Singh stood and observed one minute of silence. He also signed the memorial’s visitor book.

The delegation's visit took place on October 29, 2025.

After the ceremony at the National Memorial, Minister Singh proceeded to inspect other locations. 

He visited the Anchor Care Global Migration and Consultant Limited institution, which included a tour of the DOHS area of Ashulia.

Several officials were present during the tribute ceremony and subsequent visits. Among those accompanying the Minister were Dr Binesh Kumar, Fiji's Permanent Secretary for Multicultural Affairs, Sugarcane and Industry; Bimal Dutta, Chief Executive Officer of the Sugarcane Farmers Council; Masudur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of the Anchor Care Global Migration and Consultant Limited and Anwar Khan Anu, Sub-Assistant Engineer of the Savar National Memorial.

Numerous other individuals were also present during the occasion.
