DHAKA, Oct 19, 2025 (BSS) - Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumder today said designated officials related to land services should work for well-being of the people.
“Land administration is one of the most important sectors in Bangladesh. Every inch of land in the country is a state asset, and the Assistant Commissioners (Land) are responsible for the proper management of that asset,” he told a meeting here.
The ‘Commissioner Coordination Meeting for October 2025’ was held in the meeting room of the ministry with Senior Land Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed in the chair.
At present, Ali Imam Majumder said, AC Lands are not only involved in land administration work, but also in various administrative responsibilities. As a result, the pressure of responsibility on them is high and any negligence in land services is not acceptable, he said.
“Land is directly related to the lives of the people. The people often are being harassed for land-related problems he said adding officials must perform their duties for solving land related problems at the quickest possible time aiming to remove harassments.
The adviser said land services are the center of the public welfare. Therefore, giving utmost importance to land services along with other work is not only an administrative responsibility, but also a moral duty, he added.
He said namjari version 2.1 software will be launched simultaneously across the country on October 30. And an app for land development will also be launched, he said adding so far, about 10,000 people have been trained to properly perform online land services and more training will be provided.
He said his ministry will honour eight people for their success in providing online land services with honesty and integrity.
It is mentionable that 14,73,730 e-namzari applications have been submitted from 20 June, 2025 to 12 October, 2025. The approval rate is 72 percent.
Along with the divisional commissioners, the coordination meeting was also attended by the Chairman (Secretary) of the Land Reforms Board AJM Salauddin Nagri.
