DHAKA, Oct 06, 2025(BSS) - Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Mohammad Tajul Islam today said that all killers of the last year’s July-August Uprising would have to face trial.
“None would be spared…None would be given indemnity and no one can save himself to escape away from the trial,” he said this while talking to the journalists at the ICT premises here.
The Chief Prosecutor said law always goes on its own course and the law functions neutrally. There is no scope to believe that any one can avoid the trial after committing such heinous crimes in Bangladesh, he said.
“Those who raised doubt about the trial of the offenders which would be proved wrong,” he added.
Advocate Tajul Islam said that the required time for investigating the cases has been passed and formal charges have been submitting to the tribunal one after another.
“The formal journey of the trial has already begun and some of the charges are at the final stage. The heinous killers and the persons responsible for the crimes against humanity would be tried on this soil,” he added.
In this context, he said the ICT is on the right track now and the trial of the mass killers are expected to be completed within the stipulated timeframe, Advocate Tajul Islam said.
