DHAKA, Sept 28, 2025 (BSS) –The Bangla Academy has postponed the pre-scheduled date of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair-2026.

The decision to postpone the date for holding the fair was announced in an official notification, signed by Bangla Academy Director General Professor Dr. Mohammad Azam  today.

Academy sources said a new schedule for the fair will be announced later on in consultation with all stakeholders including publishers and others.

The notification further cited a directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs dated September 21, 2025, which stated: “Necessary arrangements should be made to organize the Amar Ekushey Book Fair after the upcoming national elections.”
