DHAKA, Sept 25, 2025 (BSS)- World Pharmacists Day was observed at Dhaka University today with daylong programs.

The programs of the day included rally, discussion, and health counseling for female students.

The discussion was held at the Pharmacy Lecture Theatre with Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Zakir Ahmed Chowdhury in the chair.
Prof. Dr. Selim Reza, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Muhammad Mahbubul Haque, Secretary of the Bangladesh Pharmacy Council and senior officials of country’s leading pharmaceutical companies spoke on the occasion.

Prof. Dr. Abu Asad Chowdhury, Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and convener of the World Pharmacists Day program delivered the welcome speech.

On the day a women’s health camp titled “Khule Bolo Campaign” was organized with the support of Nuvista Pharmaceuticals at the Mokarram Hossain Khondker Science Building premises.

In the camp female students received consultations on polycystic ovarian syndrome, irregular cycles, acne and hirsutism, endometriosis, iron and vitamin D deficiencies, thyroid disorders, breast and cervical cancer, and other health issues.

The camp was supervised by Dr. Kumkum Parveen, Assistant General Manager of the Medical Division of Nuvista Pharmaceuticals, with gynecology specialists Dr. Umme Safura Khatun and Dr. Ranjita Rani Saha providing counseling.
