DHAKA, Sept 25, 2025 (BSS) - The public works ministry (MOHPW) today issued a public alert against fraudulence over recruitment notices and fake work orders using its name.
In a statement the ministry said one such incidents of fraudulence a fake recruitment notice was issued recently against a false work order in favour of an outsourcing company called Khandaker Traders.
The fake notice claimed that the company was awarded a work order for ‘package 13’ to recruit 161 people as security guards, liftmen, computer typists and office assistants.
“It is being clearly notified that the Ministry of Housing and Public Works has no link to this fake recruitment notice and the work order and no such appointment letter has been issued by the ministry,” the statement read.
It said the fake work order for recruitment was published using a ministry reference number, 25,00,000,056,35,003,22-054, dated 7 September 2025, and it appeared that it was done with an evil intension.
The statement said the fake circular mentioned Khandaker Traders would immediately recruit the manpower and pay the recruits salary through its account number 00533012661 with Standard Bank PLC, Topkhana Road Branch.
The fake notices issued in the name of ministry’s deputy secretary Abul Baker Md Touhid, who actually is serving as a joint secretary.
The ministry requested everyone to be careful against such fraudulent activities.
