JU VC congratulates JU scholars ranked among world’s top 2 percent researchers

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan today congratulated seven faculty members and one student of the university for being ranked among the world’s top two percent researchers in the latest list jointly published by Stanford University and Elsevier.

The global ranking, recently released by Stanford University, recognized the outstanding academic and research contributions of the scholars.

The seven JU faculty members who made the list are - Associate Prof Md Mostafizur Rahman (Environmental Sciences), Prof S M Didar-ul-Islam (Environmental Sciences), Prof A A Mamun (Physics), Prof M Shamim Kaiser (Institute of Information Technology), Asst Prof Md Saeed Al Zaman (Journalism and Media Studies), Md Nurul Islam, and Prof Md Enamul Haque (Chemistry).

Along with them, Mohammad A Mamun, a student of the Department of Public Health and Informatics, was also ranked among the world’s top researchers.

In a congratulatory message, the VC said that inclusion of JU researchers in the world’s top two percent list is a matter of pride and honor for the entire university community.
“This continuous achievement in education and research has enhanced the recognition and reputation of Jahangirnagar University,” he added.

Prof Ahsan also expressed hope that JU researchers would continue to achieve greater honors at home and abroad. He wished them good health and a long, productive academic life.
