RANGPUR, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - A colourful 'Autum Poetry Festival' enchanted
a huge audience of all ages at the local Public Library Hall in the city on
Tuesday.
Rangpur's poets' organization "Katipoy Kabitakarmy" organised the bustling
poetry festival participated by writers, poets and lyricists belonging to
different generations, literary and socio-cultural personalities.
Editor of the contemplative literary magazine 'The Anjolika Sahitya Potra'
and poet Dilruba Shahadat presided over the event where recitation of poems,
self-composed poems and lyrics dedicated to the autumn entertained the
audience.
Writer Khandaker Mahbubar Rahman, poet Hai Hafiz, writer Rana Masud, poet
Touhida Khatun and reciter Regina Afrin were present as guests.
The entire programme was presented by the convener of 'Katipoy Kavitakarmy',
poet Mahbubul Islam.
Poets Badal Rahman, Joseph Akhtar, Hai Hafiz, Khandaker Mahfuzar Rahman, Rana
Masud, Regina Afrin, Zakir Ahmed, Dilip Roy, Shah Alam, Jewel Ahmed Rahul,
Noor-e-Ilahi, Maury Akhtar, Ayesha Siddika, Selina Chattar Shelly, Dhrubak
Raj, Sharif Sumon, Mehedi Masud, Sufi Zahid Hossain, Zarifa Sultana, Shahida
Milky, Cebu Mostafiz, Touhida Khatun, Obaidul Majid, Abu Sayeed Sumon, Md.
Lutfar Rahman, Mominul Shafiq, M.E.H. Noor, Abdul Quddus, Musaka Akhter Banu,
Ahsan Habib, Deepshikha, Taibur Rahman Babu, Zahid Hossain, Nurunnahar Begum
recited self-composed poems and rhymes dedicated to the autumn.
Rowshan Ara Seheli, Nilratan Sarkar, Nahida Yasmin, Cebu Mustafiz and Sufi
Zahid Hossain rendered autumn songs in the event.
Poet Dilruba Shahadat called for nurturing rich components of Bengali
literature, culture and heritage to revive lost social values for building a
peaceful and prosperous new Bangladesh free from social curses, drugs and
corruption.
"Poetry is a source of emotion, inspiration, expression, love, affection,
beauty, sadness, pain, hope, joy and happiness for people, society and
civilization as a whole," she said.
