DHAKA, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) has issued a gazette notification publishing the final list of demarcation of the 300 parliamentary constituencies for 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections.
In the final demarcation, the number of seats stood at 6 in Gazipur with the increase of one seat while the number reduced to 3 in Bagerhat with the decrease of one seat.
Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed told BSS this information on Thursday evening.
Keeping the boundaries of 261 seats of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad intact, the draft of the new boundaries was published in view of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections with minor changes in 39 seats.
Time was given till August 10 to express claims and objections regarding the boundaries of the parliamentary areas.
On August 27, Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed said that in four days, a hearing was held on 1,893 claims and objections regarding the re-demarcation of parliamentary constituencies ahead of the national elections.
He also said that during the hearing, 1,185 objections and 708 suggestions or recommendations were received in favor of 84 constituencies in 33 districts.

On August 24, the Commission held a hearing on the claims and objections of Brahmanbaria-2, 3, 5. Comilla-1, 2 6, 9, 10, 11. Noakhali-1, 2, 4, 5.
A hearing was held on the claims and objections of Chandpur-2, 3, Feni-3, Lakshmipur-2, 3 constituencies.
On August 25, Satkhira-3 4. Jessore-3, 6. Bagerhat-1, 2, 3. Jhalokati-1. Barguna-1, 2. Pirojpur-1, 2, 3. Chittagong-3, 5, 8, 10, Khagrachhari, Rangamati and Bandarban constituencies were heard by the Commission.
On August 26, Manikganj-1, 2, 3. Munshiganj-1, 2, 3. Gazipur-2, 6. Narsingdi-3, 4, 5. Narayanganj-3, 4, 5.
The Commission heard the claims and objections regarding Dhaka-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19 constituencies.
In addition, on August 27, the Commission heard the claims and objections regardingthe Panchagarh-1, 2, Rangpur-1, Kurigram-4, Sirajganj-2, 5, 6, Pabna-1. Beside, the commission also held hearings on the claims and objections of Tangail-6, Jamalpur-2, Kishoreganj-1, Sylhet-1, Faridpur-1, 4, Madaripur-2, 3, Shariatpur-2 and 3 constituencies.
