DHAKA, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS)- Education Adviser Professor Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar has said the sacrifice of the youths who laid down their lives for the nation will not go in vein.

“It is our collective duty to build their dreaming Bangladesh as we have got the opportunity at the cost of their sacrifice and hardship, he said.

The adviser was addressing the concluding ceremony of the month-long July-August mass uprising programme organized by the Rover Region of Bangladesh Scouts at the Eden Mohila College auditorium, a press release said.

Addressing the family members of 10 youths martyred in the July uprising, he said, their children were talented and promising.

“From their life stories, we have learned how they were preparing themselves for the future with a deep commitment to serve the nation,” Abrar said.

He said, “Their parents raised them with care and hardship. Today, these children have fallen to the bullets of the fascist forces. Yet, their untimely deaths are now inspiring us to build a new Bangladesh.”

He continued, “Young scouts stood beside the people during COVID-19 pandemic, tackling dengue, and harvesting crops in the fields. From donating blood and assisting in medical care to controlling traffic and helping farmers, they served the nation selflessly. We’ve seen in video footage how they continued their humanitarian work even under gunfire. These youths are true ambassadors of humanity.”

Dr Abrar went on, saying, “Every morning when we step outside and see the graffiti on the walls, we are reminded what kind of Bangladesh the young generation envisioned and wanted.”

“It is our collective responsibility to materialize that dream. We must carry out our duties showing respect to them who laid down their lives or suffered physically,” he added.

Vice-Chancellor of the National University and President of the Bangladesh Scouts Rover Region Professor Dr A S M Amanullah chaired the event.

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges Md. Ehsanul Hoque, Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Rehena Parvin, Technical and Madrasah Education Division Secretary Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Professor Dr Muhammad Azad Khan, and Director of DSHE and Secretary of Bangladesh Scouts Rover Region Professor Dr Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel were also present on the occasion.
