RANGPUR, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser's Special Assistant on Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb has said July warriors will acquire digital skills through special training for self-employment.
"A special training programme has been taken for July warriors for their self-employment so that they can return to the mainstream of society and the country's economy and also can create job opportunities for others," he said.
Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb said this as the chief guest while inaugurating a seven-day training course for July warriors virtually from the capital at Rangpur regional office of the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) today.
The BCC's Rangpur regional office is organising this training under the Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) project to enhance digital skills of July warriors.
Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Sheesh Haider Chowdhury presided over the function.
The chief guest said that despite Rangpur being the initiator of all revolutions, this region has been politically backward.
"The interim government is arranging training in various trades so that the people of this region can contribute to the country's economy on digital platforms," he said.
He said that under the 'Digital Skills for Students Training' programme of the BCC's EDGE project, a special training programme has been taken for the July warriors for their self-employment and mainstreaming in the society and the national economy.
Regarding the need for digital skills in the present era, he said, today's technology has reached a point where we will lag behind in all fields if we do not have practical knowledge about new technologies.
The interim government has taken various steps to increase the digital capabilities of students in schools, colleges and other institutions.
"Arrangements have been made to train one lakh students in phases across the country. Under this training, every student will be able to acquire digital skills from home and work on various platforms in the country and abroad," he said.
In addition, the government has taken a plan to create mobile labs to increase the digital skills of marginalized students.
Secretary of the ICT Division Sheesh Haider Chowdhury said that July warriors have dedicated their lives to achieving the rights of common people.
The interim government is taking various initiatives to bring July warriors back to normal life and provide them with employment.
"BCC is arranging training for July warriors on digital skills under the EDGE project across the country in phases starting from Rangpur division," he said.
Project Director of the EDGE project Dr Md Tayebur Rahman attended the programme as special guest.
Forty-nine July warriors from Rangpur division have been participating in this seven-day training course in two batches. Under this course, hands-on training will be provided on basic ICT, MySQL and digital marketing.
