Head teachers’ role vital in improving quality of education: Podder

COX’S BAZAR, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) – Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder said that the role of head teachers is crucial in improving the quality of education.

The adviser made the remark while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the “Training Programme on Skills Development for Head Teachers” at Cox’s Bazar Leadership Training Centre here.

“In today’s competitive world, academic degrees or theoretical knowledge alone are not enough for success—creativity and the ability to communicate with people are also essential. The Leadership Training Centres will help develop these skills,” Podder said.

He put emphasize on expanding such training centres, incorporating modern technologies and involving young people in these opportunities to increase the number of honest, skilled, and compassionate leaders.

Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) Director General Abu Noor Md Shamsuzzaman presided over the inaugural function while Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Abu Taher Md Masud Rana, DPE Additional Director General Raza Md Abdul Hye and Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Salahuddin spoke as special guests. 
Later, the adviser attended a seminar at Shaibal Tourism Motel organized by Cox’s Bazar Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under the PEDP-4 and “Demand-Based Government Primary School Development Project (Phase 1)”. 

The seminar focused on strategies for completing ongoing works, including the construction of buildings, boundary walls, wash blocks, installation of deep tube wells, and supply of furniture.
