Public employees do not have scope to evade responsibilities: ACC chief

BOGURA, Aug 10, 2025 (BSS) – Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen today said government employees’ service regulations left no scope to evade their responsibilities as he joined a public hearing of the graft body here.

“There is no scope to evade works for those who are in public service,” he said while addressing the ACC’s public hearing at Shaheed Titu Auditorium.

The graft body chief called on service seekers not to offer bribes and sought civic vigil against corruption.

“Social awareness against corruption and prevent corruption is needed in society,” Momen said and called upon the residents of this northwestern district to play a pivotal role in combating corruption.

Momen advised all to be careful about investment in private institutions.

Aggrieved people who were harassed or deprived of services presented their complaints before the commission in presence of heads of government departments of Bogura district.

Out of 97 complaints, 57 complaints listed in the ACC schedule were heard and two complaints were taken up for investigation.

Besides, two people were taken in police custody in connection with one complaint during the hearing.

The remaining complaints were settled for now subject to submission of reports.

Bogura’s Deputy Commissioner Hosna Afroza presided over the meeting, while ACC Rajshahi Division Director M Fazlul Haque delivered the welcome speech.

ACC Director General (Prevention) M Akhter Hossain and Bogura District Superintendent of Police M Zedan Al Musa were also present as guests.
