RANGPUR, August 4, 2025 (BSS) - Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar has said that the school feeding programme (SFP) will resume in government primary schools of the country from next month.
He disclosed the information this afternoon in a views-exchange meeting held at the District Shilpokola Academy auditorium in the city as the chief guest.
The Rangpur district administration and District Primary Education Office jointly organised the meeting with various stakeholders for improving the quality of primary education.
Presided over by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal, head teachers, assistant teachers of government primary schools and primary education related officials from various upazilas of the district attended the event.
Secretary to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Abu Taher Md Masud Rana, Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam, Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Abu Nur Md Shamsuzzaman and its Director (Policy and Operation) Mohammad Kamrul Hasan attended the meeting as special guests.
In his speech, the Advisor said that the procurement process of the SFP has already started and training of those who will implement it is also underway.
All preparations will be completed by this month to launch the programme at the field level in September next.
"The programme will be implemented across the country through two projects. The larger project will be launched in all government primary schools in 150 upazilas, while the other project will be implemented in Cox's Bazar and Bandarban districts," he said.
Earlier in the morning, the Adviser attended the 'Roll-Out' workshop of the project titled 'Feeding Programme in Government Primary Schools' at the Guest House of RDRS Bhaban in the city as the chief guest.
