DHAKA, July 27, 2025 (BSS) – The National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) today discharged two more burn victims injured in the fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, killing 33 so far and injuring many others. 

The discharged individuals are Kazi Amjad Saeed (20), and Sabuja (40), an employee of the school. Amjad was working as a rescuer in the fighter plane crash. 

With them, the burn institute has so far released four fire victims. Two students of the Milestone School - Rafsi Akhter Rafia (12) and Ayan Khan (12) were discharged from the facility on Saturday afternoon. 

NIBPS Director Professor Dr. Nasir Uddin at a press briefing at the Emergency Department of the institute today informed media of the matter. 

As many as 34 burn victims are now undergoing treatment at the burn institute and four of them in critical condition are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), he said. 

Out of them, 28 are children and four children in critical condition while nine others are in a slightly less serious condition and the remaining others were admitted to different wards of the burn institute, he said. 

Six of the 34 injured have burns of more than 30 percent, he added.

Replying to a question, he said that the unit chiefs are talking to the burn victims regularly twice a day and they are being given psychological support. 

Prof Nasir Uddin said that they have plans to discharge several more fire injured in phases this week.

Earlier on July 21st, a fighter jet of the air force slammed into a two storey building of the Milestone School and College due to mechanical fault minutes after taking off after 1pm, killing 33 so far, Health and Family Welfare Ministry sources confirmed.
