DHAKA, July 15, 2025 (BSS) - A three-member delegation led by Saeri Muto, chief advisor of Technical Education and Higher Education of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Bangladesh today called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan at the latter's office here.
DU treasurer Prof Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury was present.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of undertaking a development project on artificial intelligence, renewable energy, fintech, environment, science and technology with the financial and technical supports from JICA for skills development and capacity
building of DU students and young faculty members.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan thanked the JICA delegation members for their proposal of a development project.
He expressed his willingness to work with various national and international development partners including JICA to promote academic and research activities at DU.
Prof Dr Niaz said the friendly relationship between Bangladesh and Japan has been prevailing for long years. These friendly ties between the two countries will be strengthened further in the days to come, he hoped.
