CUMILLA, July 10, 2025 (BSS) - The pass rate of Cumilla Education Board in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations-2025 is 63.60 percent while 9,902 students secured GPA-5.
Girls outperformed boys in both pass rate and GPA-5 count. The pass rate for female students stood at 64.26 percent, while it was slightly lower for boys at 62.69 percent.
Among the GPA-5 holders, 5,495 are female students while the number of male GPA-5 holder students is 4,407.
A a total of 1,67,572 students sat for the SSC and equivalent exams this year under the Cumilla Board. Of them, 69,838 were boys and 97,734 were girls. Out of all candidates, 1,06,581 students successfully passed the examinations.
Board Chairman Professor Md. Shamsul Islam formally announced the results. At that time, secretary of the board Professor Khondaker Sadekur Rahman, controller of examinations Professor Runa Nasrin, deputy controller of examinations (secondary) Md. Kabir Uddin Ahmed, deputy controller of examinations Kazi Apon Tibrani, deputy director of the accounts and audit branch Md. Shahjahan, deputy secretary Masum Millat and other concerned officials were present.
A total of 10,799 educational institutions participated in this year's examinations. Among them, 22 institutions achieved a 100 percent pass rate, while one institution recorded a zero pass rate.
Compared to last year, the board has seen a decline in performance. In 2024, the pass rate was 79.23 percent and 12,100 students secured GPA-5.
