DHAKA, June 3, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been monitoring the virtual trade of sacrificial animals aimed at checking fraud and irregularities.
"This year, a lot of sacrificial animals are being bought and sold online. In this case, the RAB Cyber Monitoring Cell is monitoring the virtual world around the clock to prevent irregularities and fraud," the force's legal and media director Wing Commander MZM Intekhab Chowdhury told a news briefing at RAB's media centre in Kawran Bazar here.
The RAB has asked all concerned to be cautious in online trading of the sacrificial animals, he said.
"If there is any complaint in this regard, it is requested to file a complaint with the RAB Control Room," he said.
RAB's intelligence surveillance is against the manipulation of profit-seeking syndicates to collapse the market for sacrificial animal rawhides, he said.
"Necessary measures will be taken against their misdeeds," he said.
He also said that necessary measures including mobile courts will be taken to prevent harassment of women coming to the cattle markets.
"If anyone is a victim of any kind of harassment, it is requested to inform the RAB Control Room and RAB patrol team. RAB Forces will take strict legal action against those involved," he said.
In addition to the regular patrols of RAB in the cattle markets and its adjacent areas, RAB's intelligence surveillance has been increased in the surrounding areas to prevent any unwanted incidents, he said.
