DHAKA, May 23, 2025 (BSS) - The first S. N. Bose National Science Festival-2025 is set to commence tomorrow at Dhaka University's historic Curzon Hall premises.
The two-day event is being organized by 'Bigyan Adda', a student-led platform dedicated to promoting science-based knowledge and practice, said a press release signed by Umama Fatema, a leading organizer of the platform.
The opening ceremony, scheduled for 10am, will be graced by Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Sayema Haque Bidisha, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Dr. Enamul Hoque and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dr. Upoma Kabir.
Several university clubs and societies, including the Dhaka University Science Society, Research Society, Quiz Society and Chess Club, are co-organizing the festival.
The festival will feature various competitions including an IT Hackathon, Science Olympiad, science-based general knowledge quiz, science-based extempore speech, poster presentation, innovation and exhibition, chess and Rubik's Cube.
Students from secondary, higher secondary and university levels will be eligible to participate in the competitions.
The festival will also host 30 interactive stalls set up on the Curzon Hall grounds. These will feature collaborations with science-focused companies, research institutions and academic publications.
Public and private universities, as well as research organizations based in Dhaka, will showcase cutting-edge technologies and innovative projects to captivate and engage visitors.
