DHAKA, May 21, 2025 (BSS) - The Summer President Parade-2025 was held today at the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Academy in Jashore, marking the commissioning of Officer Cadets from No. 86 BAFA Course, Direct Entry-2025A, SPSSC-2025A and BLPC-2025A of the Bangladesh Air Force.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan attended the ceremony as the chief guest, according to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

The NAVAL Chief reviewed the smartly turned-out parade and took the salute at the impressive march past and also handed over trophies and flying badges to the graduating Officer Cadets.

Officer Cadet Md. Mutasim Billah Tanim was awarded the coveted "Sword of Honour" for the best all-round performance. Officer Cadet Taki Tahmid Niloy received the "Birshreshto Matiur Rahman Trophy" for the best performance in Flying Training and Officer Cadet Md. Mutasim Billah Tanim was presented the "Commandant's Trophy" for the best performance in General Service Training in No. 86 BAFA Course, read the press release. 

Additionally, Officer Cadet Mahdi Hasan Talha received the "Chief of Air Staff Trophy" for the best all-round performance among the Ground Branch Officer Cadets in No. 86 BAFA Course. 

In this Summer Term, Bir Uttam A K Khandker Squadron was named Champion Squadron and was awarded the Academy Colour.

In his speech, Admiral Nazmul Hassan praised the Bangladesh Air Force for its unwavering commitment to national service and its growing contributions to the country's development. 

He expressed confidence that the Air Force would continue to strengthen its position in safeguarding national interests.

"The BAF is not only playing a crucial role in protecting our skies but also in establishing Bangladesh as a respectful and humanitarian nation on the global stage," he said.

Highlighting the modernization of the Air Force, Admiral Hassan noted the inclusion of advanced aircraft and simulators in the training regime. These upgrades aim to better prepare the next generation of BAF personnel for future challenges.

He also emphasized the growing international recognition of the BAF Academy, stating that its training quality has drawn the attention of the global defense community. To date, 30 foreign flight cadets have graduated from the academy, enhancing the Air Force's image globally.

A total of 45 Officer Cadets, including one female cadet, were commissioned during the parade. The parade was commanded by Officer Cadet Academy Senior Under Officer Md. Mutasim Billah Tanim.

The ceremony concluded with a flypast by BAF aircraft, an aerobatic display, and a parachute jump demonstration by elite BAF paratroopers, captivating the audience and marking the occasion with patriotic pride.
