NCP launched its youth wing 'Jatiya Jubo Shakti'

DHAKA, May 16, 2025 (BSS) - The National Citizen Party (NCP) has launched its youth wing "Jatiya Jubo Shakti" with an aim to transform the country's demographic dividend into a force for progressive change and promises to center young voices in policy, innovation, and state decision-making. 

NCP Joint Chief Coordinator (Youth) Advocate Tariqul Islam has been nominated as the convenor and Joint Member Secretary Dr Jahedul Islam nominated as the member secretary of the new youth wing.

Engineer Forhad Sohel has been made Chief Organiser of the newly launched wing of NCP.  

The Jubo wing was unveiled at a launching ceremony this afternoon in front of the banned Awami League's central office at Shaheed Abrar Fahad Avenue in Dhaka, previously known as Bangabandhu Avenue.

"Jatiya Jubo Shakti' will emerge as an alternative to traditional youth political wing, which will be working as force committed to addressing the real issues facing young people-including unemployment, lack of access to economic resources, and exclusion from policymaking spaces," NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari said while announcing the 131-member 
committee, comprising representatives from all 64 districts.

Besides, NCP Joint Chief Coordinator Tuhin Mahbub has been made as senior joint convenor while NCP Joint Chief Coordinator Nahida Bushra and NCP Joint Chief Organiser Dutee Aranya Chowdhury made Senior Joint Member Secretary. 

Joint Convenors are Pritom Sohagh, Engineer Mohammad Golam Monab, Ashikur Rahman, Kazi Ayesha Ahmed, Hizbur Rahman Bokul, Maruf Al Hamid and Asadur Rahman.

Joint Member Secretaries are- Nishad Ahmed, Rajid Bin Zaman, Mohammad Injamamul Haque Shaon, Mahfuz Lutfor Rahman, Mila Afar, Mohammad Abu Sufian, Mahmud Sultan, Rimi Islam, Khaled Shofikul Islam, and Esha Jahan Bindu.

Khaled Mahmud Mostofa was made Chief Youth Development Coordinator (Joint Member Secretary rank) while Shakil Ahmed Iqbal and Akhter Moni made Joint Youth Development Coordinators.  

Besides, Yasin Arafat will be working as Senior Organizer with the Chief Organizer. However, the name of the full committee will be unveiled later.

NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain said, "This platform will bring a new dimension to politics, supporting training, financial independence, and the development of social values." 

He also said, "India must respect Bangladesh's democracy. It should sever ties with the Awami League and instead build relations with the people of Bangladesh." 

"Decisions about Bangladesh's politics must be made by its citizens - there is no room for foreign interference," he added.

Nasiruddin Patwari said, "With the vision of transforming Bangladesh into a strong state in South Asia, we began the Shaheed Abrar Study Circle. Following that, we formed Chhatra Shakti and led a mass uprising with support from all parties."

"Today's Jatiya Jubo Shakti is a continuation of that movement. Now, we are organising ourselves across all sectors - from workers to expatriates," he added.

He said, "More than 40% of Bangladesh's population is young. If we want to change the country's destiny, there is no alternative to uniting this group," he said, expressing hope that Jatiya Jubo Shakti would become a milestone for youth mobilization."

Supporters and activists began gathering at the venue from early afternoon and enthusiastic participants from across the country arrived in processions, chanting slogans and waving banners.

NCP Senior Joint Convenor Ariful Islam Adeeb and Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud also addressed the launching ceremony of Jatiya Jubo Shakti.
