BEIJING, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will call on Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People here at 10:30am local time tomorrow.
During the meeting, the Bangladesh premier will raise various issues related to Bangladesh's national interests, said Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) spokesman Mahdi Amin here today.
He hoped the discussion would yield positive outcomes that further strengthen the development and progress of the people of Bangladesh.
Referring to the future of Bangladesh–China relations, Amin said cooperation between the two countries is expected to deepen across multiple dimensions.
Bilateral engagement would reach new heights in areas ranging from strategic cooperation, trade, investment, and employment to development projects and people-to-people exchanges, he noted.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, who is now on a four-day visit to China, is scheduled to depart Beijing for Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
A 24-member delegation is accompanying him on the trip.
The delegation includes Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, Water Resources Minister Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat, and PM’s advisers Humaiun Kobir, Brigadier General (retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam, Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir and Mahadi Amin.
The Prime Minister began his first official foreign tour on June 21 with a visit to Malaysia. He then traveled to Dalian, China, on Monday night to attend the World Economic Forum’s Summer Davos 2026. After participating in various events there for two days, he arrived in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon.
On the final day of the visit, the Prime Minister's schedule also includes a meeting with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China at the Great Hall of the People as well as a visit to the National Museum of China.
The Prime Minister and his delegation are scheduled to depart Beijing for Dhaka at 5pm.
