DHAKA, March 9, 2026 (BSS)- Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has formed monitoring and control cells at the central and regional levels to ensure proper and uninterrupted supply of fuel oil across the country and to quickly address any complaints related to distribution.
According to a press release issued on Monday and signed by BPC Secretary Shahina Sultana, the initiative aims to closely monitor fuel oil stock, supply and sales situations nationwide.
In addition to the central control cell established in Chittagong, regional monitoring cells have been formed in Dhaka, Bogura, Khulna, Sylhet and Barishal.
The press release said the monitoring and control cells have been formed in coordination with the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, BPC and the concerned oil marketing companies.
Under the system, the regional control cells will send daily information to the central control cell regarding petroleum product stocks — including both shore tank and floating reserves — as well as supply dispatch, sales situation and retail diesel prices at regional depots.
The Central Control Cell will prepare a consolidated petroleum product stock report and regularly send it to the relevant ministries, departments and agencies, including the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
Additionally, the regional control cells will regularly inform the respective district administrations about the quantity of fuel oil supplied from depots to dealers and agents during the ongoing situation and the agricultural irrigation season through email or fax.
The notification also stated that any information regarding fuel oil distribution, storage, smuggling or adulteration can be reported immediately to the concerned control cell.
Necessary actions will be taken after verifying the information received.
