DHAKA, Feb 14, 2026 (BSS) - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has congratulated the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairman Tarique Rahman on his party's electoral victory and expressed Washington's interest in working with the new government.

"Congratulations to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its leader Tarique Rahman as well as the people of Bangladesh. The United States looks forward to working with the newly elected government to advance prosperity and the security of the region," Marco Rubio said in a message posted on social media. 

The message underscored the United States' commitment to strengthening bilateral engagement and advancing shared regional objectives following the formation of Bangladesh's newly elected government.
