DHAKA, Dec 09, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep condolences to Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh over the loss of lives or missing and severe damage caused by the recent devastating floods in central Vietnam. 

"We are deeply saddened by the recent devastating floods in central Vietnam, which have left more than a hundred people dead or missing and caused severe damage to the country's agriculture and infrastructure," he wrote to the Vietnam Prime Minister in a message today.

The Chief Adviser's Press Wing released the message here this evening.

"On behalf of the Government and the People of Bangladesh, I extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Our sympathies are with those who have been injured and affected by the tragic flood," Prof Yunus said. 

"As a climate-vulnerable country, we understand the human suffering and economic impact of such natural disasters. At this moment of grief, we sincerely pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls and the quick recovery of the injured. We hope Vietnam rebuilds and recovers from the adverse impacts of the floods soon," he added.

Bangladesh stands ready to extend all possible support and cooperation to Vietnam, if required, the Chief Adviser said, adding, "Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration".
