DHAKA, Nov 29, 2025 (BSS) - BNP standing committee member and personal physician to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, today said any decision regarding her transfer abroad for advanced treatment will depend entirely on her physical condition and the recommendations of the medical board overseeing her care.

Speaking at a briefing on Khaleda Zia's health at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka around 9 pm, Dr Zahid said, "The issue of going abroad depends entirely on her overall physical health and the decision and recommendations of the medical board."

He stressed that arrangements have been made to provide the highest standard of treatment available in the country. "The responsibility for her treatment lies with the doctors and healthcare workers here. God Almighty is the one who heals. Arrangements have been made for her to receive the best medical care available in the world. Once the medical board gives any advice regarding taking her abroad, we will inform everyone through you," he added.

Dr Zahid noted that Khaleda Zia's condition has remained unchanged for the past three days. "Her condition has been stable for the last three days, Alhamdulillah. From a medical perspective, this means she is maintaining the treatment-that is, she is able to receive the care being provided. Please pray for her so she can continue receiving treatment and recover."

He urged BNP leaders and activists not to crowd the hospital, pointing out that around 300 other patients are currently admitted there. "We request everyone to avoid unnecessary gathering so treatment activities for others are not disrupted. Please stay in your respective areas and pray for her recovery according to your faith," he said.

Dr Zahid also said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is monitoring Khaleda Zia's treatment regularly. He added that many heads of state, heads of government and foreign countries have expressed concern over her health. Tarique Rahman has conveyed his gratitude for their support and sought everyone's cooperation.
