DHAKA, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS)- Adviser to the ministries of industries and public works Adilur Rahman Khan has said that the ideas and writings of young people hold the power to inspire meaningful change in society.
He made this remark on Monday at the award giving ceremony of the essay competition titled "July through Your Eyes" organized by the July Biplob Parishad held at the Teacher-Student Center (TSC) Auditorium of Dhaka University.
Adilur Rahman Khan extended gratitude to the July Biplob Parishad for organizing such a timely and thoughtful event.
The July Biplob Parishad, an organization of the July movement warriors based in Jatrabari here arranged the competition to preserve the memory of the July Mass Uprising.
Winners received their awards from the Adviser. More than a hundred students from different parts of the country participated in this national-level competition.
The competition was divided into three categories: "July of Jatrabari" in Category A, "Dreams of July" in Category B, and "The Aspirations of July in State Reform" in Category C.
Students from various academic levels submitted essays on these themes. A total of 30 winners were selected, with 10 winners from each category.
First prize winners were awarded laptops, while second and third place winners received prize bonds.
Participants placing fourth to tenth received commemorative crests. Additionally, all participants were given certificates and educational materials.
National Citizen Party (NCP) Joint Convener Sarwar Tushar, who was special guest at the event, said, "No movement has a strong foundation without students and the people, and without them, the movement loses its direction."
Speakers at the event included Convener Sourav Hossain Fahim of the July Biplob Parishad, Member Secretary Motashwer Tanvir, Spokesperson Swadhin Khan, Standing Committee Members Shahnewaz Fahad, Md. Abul Hasan and Sadil Ahmed, Joint Conveners Rakib Hossain, Imran, Mridul Hasan Yen, Sadman, and Brishti, Joint Member Secretary Ikramul Haque, and Deputy Spokesperson Suraik Hasan.
At the event, the July Biplob Parishad presented commemorative crests to two organizations: the Private University Students' Alliance Bangladesh (PUSAB) and the July Revolutionary Alliance (JRA).
In addition, Poet Poliyar Wahid, known for his work on the July Mass Uprising, and Yasir Arafat, Staff Reporter at the daily Samakal, were also honored with commemorative crests.
