CHATTOGRAM, Feb 18, 2026 (BSS)- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has
filed a case against Mahfuzur Rahman Mita, the former Member of Parliament
(MP) for Chattogram-3 (Sandwip) Constituency and chairman of Rupali Life
Insurance Company Ltd.

The case was filed by the ACC's Chattogram Integrated District Office-2 on

allegedly amassing wealth of approximately Taka 9.88 million beyond his known
income.

The case has been charged under Section 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption

Legal action will be taken if anyone else is found involved during the
investigation. Mahfuzur Rahman filed income tax returns from the tax year
2002-03 to the tax year 2024-25.

tax documents. Additionally, from the tax year 2011-12 to 2016-17, no valid
documents were found to support the reported income.

that his family and other expenses during the relevant period amounted to

have not been identified as legitimate savings excluding expenses. The period
under investigation is from 2002 to June 30, 2024.
