Govt appoints 5 new DAGs

DHAKA, Feb 16, 2026 (BSS) – The government today appointed five new Deputy Attorney Generals (DAGs) to represent the state in cases before the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

The solicitor wing of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued a gazette notification, saying the appointments would take effect immediately.

The newly appointed DAGs are Md Abdus Samad, Maloy Kumar Roy, Md Shafikul Islam, Md Isa and Md Obaidur Rahman (Tarek).

Of them, Md Isa and Md Obaidur Rahman (Tarek) had been serving as Assistant Attorney Generals since August 28, 2024; their appointments as AAGs were also revoked today.
