DHAKA, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS) – A court here today sent former chief engineer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Md Habibur Rahman to jail in a case lodged over the alleged misappropriation of TK 150 crore from the Cox’s Bazar International Airport terminal and runway construction project.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order after the accused was produced before the court.
The investigation officer pleaded to keep him in custody until completion of the probe, ACC Public Prosecutor Delwar Jahan Rumi told BSS.
A team of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) detained Rahman from the Segunbagicha area of the capital earlier today.
The anti-graft body filed the case on January 27, 2025, against 10 people, including Tariq Ahmed Siddique, former security and defence adviser to the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
