DHAKA, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a condolence message, he said Begum Khaleda Zia worked for the welfare of the country and its people throughout her life.

"Her relentless struggle and pursuit for the establishment of democracy and people's rights will guide future generations for ages. As the first female prime minister of Bangladesh, she served the country and the nation and always stood by the common people. Her unique contribution to the country and the nation will be remembered forever," VC said.

The DU Vice-Chancellor prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
