SANGSAD BHABAN, June 24, 2026 (BSS)- Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury today told the parliament that special fairs and awareness campaigns are being arranged through the National Pension Authority to popularize the Universal Pension Scheme at the grassroots level.

He said this in response to a written tabled question placed by treasury bench member Biswas Jahangir Alam of Narail-1 constituency in the House.

The finance minister said that rallies, pension fairs, workshops and cultural programmes have already been organized in the Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions. 

In addition, awareness workshops and campaigns have been conducted in Pabna, Bogura, Naogaon, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon and Gaibandha.

He said initiatives to promote the Universal Pension Scheme are continuing at the union level through Union Digital Centers (UDCs). Besides, all scheduled banks and post offices across the country are functioning as front offices for the scheme.

Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury also said that plans are underway to organize rallies, workshops, pension fairs and cultural programmes in Narail district at a convenient time in July with a view to making the Universal Pension Scheme popular among people of the district.
