THAKURGAON, Feb 09, 2026 (BSS) – Jatiya Party candidate for Thakurgaon-3 Hafiz Uddin Ahmed has pledged to develop rural infrastructures if he is elected in the 13th national polls.

Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, five times elected member of parliament from Thakurgaon -3, came up with his pledges and aspiration about the national polls in an interview with BSS Thakurgaon district correspondent Zakir Mostafiz Milu.

BSS: What are your election promises for the voters of your area?

Hafiz Uddin Ahmed: I was an elected MP from the opposition party in the last national election.

I only got 9 months. At that time, I started many works, some of which are incomplete. Most of these are roads, bridges, culverts, mosques and temples, etc. If I am elected this time, I want to complete these works that I started first. These are the demands of the people of the area, so I am taking part in the election again to complete those. Along with this, I have submitted some new development projects in the area and I want to start these works too. Apart from this, I want to make overall development in the area.

BSS: What are your instructions to the leaders and workers to follow the electoral code of conduct?
Hafiz Uddin Ahmed: We are following the instructions that the Election Commission has given regarding the code of conduct. We have not violated any code of conduct. You can ask what others are doing; I do not want to say anything about that.

BSS: What is your position on the July Charter referendum?

Hafiz Uddin Ahmed: A referendum means 'Yes' or 'No' vote - it is the will of the people, their job. If they wish, they will vote 'Yes', and if they wish, they will vote 'No'. They will decide on their own.

BSS: What are your expectations in the upcoming national elections?

Hafiz Uddin Ahmed: It is difficult to say what will happen and who will form the government. If there is a new government, what policies they will adopt will be understood after 6 months of the election.

I have asked my leaders and workers to go door to door to seek votes from people. If I have not done development works, if I have mistreated people, if I have committed corruption, if I have made my own fortune with votes, then there is no need to vote for me. And if I developed the area and built roads, schools-colleges, mosques-madrasas after being elected, then you will vote for me.
