BOGURA, Feb 9, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate for Bogura-3 (Adamdighi–Dupchanchia) constituency Abdul Mohit Talukder has pledged to build a society free from discrimination by implementing the 31-point plan announced by BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.

In an interview with BSS, Abdul Mohit said the people of Bogura-3 have faced discrimination for the last one and a half decades, resulting in limited employment opportunities and stalled development in the area.

“Our main promise is the implementation of Tarique Rahman’s 31-point plan. The people of this region have long been deprived. We want to end this divided system and restore development and peace,” he said.

The BNP candidate also promised extensive development of roads, schools, colleges, mosques, madrasas and temples if elected.

Highlighting youth frustration, he said young voters in Bogura were once discouraged from jobs simply because of their district identity, and expressed confidence that this sentiment would translate into strong electoral support for the BNP’s election symbol, the sheaf of paddy.

Regarding the electoral code of conduct, Abdul Mohit said strict instructions have been given to party leaders and activists to comply with all election laws.

“If I am to become a lawmaker, obeying the law is mandatory for both me and my workers. We are conducting a disciplined campaign within the rules,” he added.

On the July Charter and the proposed referendum, the BNP candidate said his party has taken a clear and positive stance.

“Our party chief has signed the charter and expressed his support, so there is no ambiguity. We are in favour of a ‘yes’ vote,” he said.

Expressing optimism about the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for February 12, Abdul Mohit said the people of Adamdighi and Dupchanchia are peace-loving and committed to fair elections.

“After a long struggle, an opportunity for a fair election has emerged. InshaAllah, people will vote overwhelmingly for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ and peace will prevail,” he said.

Bogura-3 constituency comprises Adamdighi and Dupchanchia upazilas.

Four candidates are contesting the seat: BNP’s Md. Abdul Mohit Talukder (Sheaf of Paddy), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nur Mohammad (Scale), Jatiya Party’s Md. Shahinul Islam (Plough), and Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Md. Shahjahan Ali Talukder (Hand Gan).

According to Election Commission, the constituency has a total of 339,181 voters, including 169,831 women, 169,347 men and three third-gender voters.

Voting will be held at 118 polling stations across the constituency.
