SAVAR, Feb 3, 2026 (BSS) – National Citizen Party (NCP) and 11-party alliance candidate for Dhaka-19 constituency Dilshana Parul said if she is elected, she wants to free the people of Savar-Ashulia from terrorism, extortion and drug abuse.

“Terrorism, extortion and drug abuse have reached alarming levels in Savar–Ashulia. If I am elected in the polls, I will free the people of Savar-Ashulia from the menace,” she said in an interview with BSS.

She said the residents of the constituency are suffering severely due to the Savar dumping station and pledged to work toward resolving the issue.

Parul said the number of women in this area is very high. Considering this, she has plan to take steps to fully bear maternity-related expenses at government cost and build a hospital for female workers in this industrially concentrated constituency.

Above all, she promised to work together with the people of Savar–Ashulia to develop the area into a labor- and business-friendly constituency for the benefits of all.

Regarding compliance with the election code of conduct, the 11-party alliance–backed candidate said she has given proper instructions to party leaders and activists to follow the code strictly.

However, she alleged that candidates from major rival parties are not complying with the election rules. Despite restrictions, they are campaigning inside educational institutions, which she said is completely unacceptable.

She also mentioned that female activists of their alliance are facing various obstacles while seeking votes and called for intervention by the Election Commission.

Reiterating her firm stance in favor of the referendum, Parul said their alliance’s position is clear on the matter and that they support a “Yes” vote.

Alongside seeking votes for her Shapla Koli (Water Lily Bud) symbol, she said she is also campaigning in favor of a “Yes” vote in the referendum.

NCP Joint Chief Coordinator Dilshana Parul further expressed confidence that she would achieve a 100 percent victory in the upcoming national election.

Ahead of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election on February 12, candidates in Savar–Ashulia are spending busy days, going door to door with promises of development.

In this parliamentary seat, BNP’s Dr. Dewan Md. Salahuddin is contesting with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol.

Other candidates include Jatiya Party’s Bahadur Islam Imtiaz, Gono Odhikar Parishad’s Sheikh Shawkat Hossain, Islami Andolon Bangladesh’s Faruk Khan, National People’s Party’s Israfil Hossain Savari, and as an independent candidate Chowdhury Hasan Sohrawardy.

Dhaka-19 constituency has a total of 747,070 voters. Among them, 367,151 are female voters and 379,919 are male voters. There are a total of 278 polling centers in the constituency.
