NATORE, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS) – Gana Sanghati Andolan’s candidate for the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election in Natore-I Md. Sentu Ali has vowed to create respectable employment opportunities for the youth through building a hacker-free town.
He outlined plans to establish economic zones and diversify sugar mills to achieve this goal.
Natore-I constituency comprises Lalpur and Bagatipara upazilas of Natore. Md. Sentu Ali, convener of the party’s Lalpur upazila committee, has been nominated by the Gana Sanghati Andolan to contest the seat. He is running with the electoral symbol ‘Mathal’.
Candidate Md. Sentu Ali responded to various election-related questions in an interview with Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Natore District Correspondent Farazi Ahmmad Rafiq Baban.
BSS: What is your election promise for the voters of your area?
Sentu Ali: Lalpur Upazila has become a sanctuary for hawkers, and this issue is discussed nationwide. I want to build a hawker-free town and provide employment opportunities for the youth. To achieve this, I will make every effort to establish an economic zone in the char area of the Padma River.
He added: Additionally, I want to make the North Bengal Sugar Mills free from corruption and discrimination, and implement new projects for its development. As a result, seasonal workers will have year-round employment opportunities.
BSS: What are your instructions to the leaders and workers regarding the election code of conduct?
Sentu Ali: I respect the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission and intend to follow it. For that purpose, I have given necessary instructions to party leaders and workers.
BSS: What is your position on the referendum on the July Charter?
Sentu Ali: The youth of the country, during the mass uprising, demanded change. The July Charter must be implemented to ensure that change. Therefore, I, along with my party leaders, workers, and supporters, will vote ‘yes’.
BSS: What are your expectations for the upcoming parliamentary elections?
Sentu Ali: Voters should not cast their ballots in exchange for money. They should vote based on the honesty and fearless stance of the candidate. Everyone should support the candidate who consistently stands with the people.
