TORONTO, Canada, April 14, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's party earned a majority in parliament on Monday after two byelection wins, media projections said, giving the Liberals a key boost as they confront threats from the United States.

Public broadcaster CBC projected the Liberals held a central Toronto seat, while CTV news said the party won another district in eastern Toronto, giving the party full control of Canada's legislature.
