NATORE, Dec 10, 2022 (BSS) - Human Rights Day-2022 was observed here today as
elsewhere in the globe in a befitting manner.
This year's theme of the day is 'Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All'.
Marking the Day, various human rights-related local organisations chalked out
elaborate programmes.
On the occasion, different human rights organisations and District Human
Rights Implementation Commission jointly arranged a rally that was brought
out from Sadar Upazila Parishad and ended there after parading main streets.
To mark the day, a discussion was also held at Shafiuddin Sardar auditorium
of Victoria Public Library in the morning.
Chief Adviser of the District Human Rights Implementation Commission and
Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Sirajul Islam presided over the function.
It was also addressed, among others, by Bangladesh Human Rights
Implementation Organisation Natore District unit President Advocate Abdul
Wahab and its General Secretary Subir Vardhan Moon, Former President of
Natore Press Club Ronen Roy, Educationist Ashok Kumar Bhadra.
Speakers said human rights are essential for development and good governance
in the country. By creating awareness among the people at all levels in the
society, it is possible to maintain the human rights situation, they
mentioned.
Everyone should work to create awareness from their respective position and
only then people will get their dignity and human rights will be established,
the speakers added.
