Around 500 students from various secondary schools, madrasas, and technical educational institutions in the Paba upazila of the district participated in
the summer sports competition.

prizes to the winners. The programme was presided over by Akhtar Hasan Mridha, principal of Maskatadighi Multipurpose (Technical) High School and College.

The three-day sports event ended with the excitement of students holding prizes and applause. Some won by battling in the blue waters of swimming, some in the battle of wits on the chessboard, and others by sweating it out on the kabaddi and handball fields.
At the end of the three-day competition, the joy of victory merged into one on the prize distribution stage. Some held trophies in their hands, while others had the regret of not winning in their eyes-- yet there was still the joy of dreaming anew and the determination to do better in the coming days.
However, many eyes held the dream of doing better next time - because beyond the calculation of win and loss, sports seemed to have taught them the story
of fighting and moving forward.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ibnul Abedin said, "Sports not only keep students physically healthy, but also build discipline, leadership, empathy,
and a competitive spirit among them."
"Alongside studies, regular sports play an important role in the mental development and boosting self-confidence of students."
He further said, "A player on the field today can become the pride of the country and the nation tomorrow."
"Therefore, families and educational institutions need to be more sincere in increasing opportunities for sports alongside developing students' talents."
