RANGAMATI, Sept 6, 2026 (BSS) – A day-long free medical camp was organized on the premises of Sapchhari union parishad office today under the initiative of Rangamati Sadar Zone of Bangladesh Army, providing healthcare services to more than 200 residents from remote hill communities.

Rangamati Sadar Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md Ekramul Rahat attending the camp as the chief guest.

Sapchhari union parishad chairman Prabin Chakma, UP member Riton Barua, Mabikchhari Bazar Committee President Md Saiful Islam Sagir, Sapchhari Jubo Dal president Abdul Bacha and Social Committee member Md Jahangir were present, among others.

In his inaugural speech, Zone Commander Lt. Col Ekramul Rahat said Bangladesh Army has been working from the very beginning not only to maintain law and order in the hill region, but also to uphold peace and harmony and improve the living standards and health security of local people.

“Providing healthcare services at the doorsteps of marginalised and underprivileged people who cannot easily access advanced medical treatment due to distance is one of our key objectives,” he said.

He added that such public welfare and humanitarian activities of the Army would continue in the future.

More than 200 distressed and underprivileged men, women and children from both the hill and Bengali communities received free healthcare services, necessary medical tests and medicines at the camp.
