RAJSHAHI, Sept 02, 2026 (BSS)- Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has taken steps to strengthen beat policing to build it public friendly.
RMP Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir in meeting with police officers at RMP headquarters yesterday urged the officers to strengthen beat policing.
In the meeting, detailed discussion and review were held on ongoing beat policing activities at thana level, anti-narcotics drives, public engagement with police, crime control, identifying and resolving existing obstacles in law enforcement, and providing prompt and desired policing services to the general public.
RMP Commissioner Faizul Kabir said that speedy and harassment-free policing services must be ensured for the people.
He emphasized maintaining professionalism, responsibility and people-friendly behavior in every action of police.
He further said that there is no scope for police to intervene in land or property related disputes. However, the safety of people's lives and property must be ensured.
He asked for speedy disposal of various complaints and General Diaries (GD) through proper verification and investigation.
Besides, he asked for freeing city roads and footpaths from illegal occupation of hawkers to keep the public movement smooth.
He also instructed the officials to remain alert against theft, mugging and other crimes and strengthen regular and visible police patrols in the city.
The Police Commissioner also emphasized taking necessary measures to control sound pollution in residential areas after 10 PM.
He also gave directions to prevent the activities of drug dealers and juvenile gangs and bring the members of such gangs under control.
