MYMENSINGH, Aug 31, 2026 (BSS) - Three people, including two women, were 
killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Trishal upazila 
of the district this morning.

In the first incident, two people, including a woman, were killed when an 
auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a cargo truck at Thakur Bari intersection 
on the Balipara Road.

The deceased were identified as Iqbal Hossain, 36, son of Suruj Ali of Harar 
Kandi village in Kendua upazila of Netrokona district and Hossne Ara, 60, 
wife of Manzil Bhuiya of Bhuiyapara village in the same upazila.

In another accident, a woman was killed after being run over by a pickup 
truck at Shimultali on the same road.

The deceased was identified as Maria Khatun, 25, wife of Alamin of Birrampur 
village in Trishal upazila.

Police said Maria was taking her child to a madrasa around 7.30am. When she 
reached the Shimultali area, a pickup truck coming from behind hit her.

Locals rescued her and rushed to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital 
where the attending physician declared her dead.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Rezaul Karim of Trishal Police Station confirmed the 
accidents and deaths.

Another police officer, SI Palash, said the bodies were handed over to the 
families and legal action has been taken in connection with the accidents.
