SATKHIRA, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a bus in Patkelghata of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Ananda Das, 53, son of Krishna Pada Das of Shakdah village under Patkelghata Police Station in Tala upazila.

The accident occurred around 7.00am near Shakdah Bridge on the Satkhira-Khulna highway when a Sohag Paribahan bus hit Ananda Das while he was walking along the roadside. He died at the scene.

Patkelghata Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Rahman confirmed the incident and said further legal proceedings are underway.
