RMP Commissioner directs to establish police stations as 'Zero Complaint Units'

RAJSHAHI, Aug 21, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir has instructed the concerned officers to take effective steps to establish RMP's 12 police stations as 'Zero Complaint Units'.

He instructed them to quickly dispose of GD and UD cases and ensure more people-friendly, cordial and service-oriented behavior with service seekers as per the commitment of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The RMP Commissioner gave the instruction while presiding over a daylong crime review meeting for the month of July at its headquarters conference room on Thursday.

At the meeting, the overall law and order situation in the metropolis, the crime scenario in July and the progress of activities undertaken for crime control were reviewed.

Detailed discussions were held on various issues, including proper registration of cases, prompt completion of investigations, submission of accurate police reports, recovery of narcotics, execution of warrants and arrest of accused persons.

At the same time, emphasis was placed on properly implementing the directives of the court.

The Police Commissioner put special emphasis on ensuring that people do not face any kind of harassment or suffering while receiving police services.

He also gave necessary instructions to provide police clearance services with transparency and promptness and ensure that no police member remains absent from the workplace without permission.

The RMP Commissioner directed the concerned officers to take effective measures to completely stop the use of hydraulic horns to maintain discipline in vehicular movement in the metropolis.

At the same time, emphasis was laid on taking legal action to stop the movement of unauthorized vehicles, including shallow engine-driven trolleys, tractors, Nasimon, Karimon and other vehicles.

Instructions were also given to control crime through regular check-posts in important and crime-prone areas and to take appropriate action against vehicles violating the law.

He instructed the concerned officers to remain vigilant by strengthening surveillance in all residential hotels in the metropolis to check gambling.

At the same time, he emphasized further strengthening beat policing activities to provide legal assistance to every household in the city and increase effective engagement between the police and the public.

At the meeting, necessary guidelines were given to the concerned officers to perform their duties with utmost professionalism, dedication and responsibility to further improve the overall security and quality of public service in the metropolis.

The Additional Police Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and Officers-in-Charge of police stations were present at the meeting.
